Caring for the Land
We seek to care for Utica’s Olmsted-designed parks – to restore and preserve them for the benefit of our community and future generations. We also seek to be good stewards of the land itself and strive to maintain a healthy ecosystem for everything that uses the parks – the plants, the wildlife, the water that flows through, and the people. This means the use of native plants, keeping our tree canopy healthy and vibrant, and using sustainable landscaping practices. We are fortunate to have volunteers who are experts in various land management fields to guide us. This blog will share what we are doing and learning as we go.
