The smallest of the Olmsted-designed neighborhoods in Utica, Talcott Road is a little gem. Commissioned by the Hugh R. Jones Company in 1921, Talcott Road covers only one block known previously as the Osborn Tract. At its center is the characteristic Olmsted common green space or island, and the road itself is lined by original streetlamps and handsome prewar homes.
Talcott Road is best experienced by parking your car on Genesee Street or Richardson Avenue or Hartford Place and taking a short turn by foot around its little green.
